Meet the author is a series of articles intended to introduce you to our wonderful authors. Learn about the books they’ve written, the spiritual pathways they’ve traversed and some fun little tidbits… introducing Morgan Daimler!

Tell us a bit about yourself…

I’ve been a witch since the early 1990s with a focus on Irish paganism and fairies. I wanted to be a fine artist when I grew up and have actually won an art award and had my work on the cover of a magazine, but I realized that art wasn’t going to pay the bills, so I worked a variety of jobs, from Emergency Medical Technician to school bus driver, before getting a degree in psychology. After graduating university in 2013 my middle child, who was a toddler at the time was dealing with worsening health issues that meant I had to leave my job; since I’d always loved writing and it was something I could do while caring for my children I began to focus on writing non-fiction related to my spiritual interests, which led to self-publishing several and then a few years later signing with Moon Books. I currently live with my two youngest children, three cats, and a leopard gecko somewhere in the wilds of the northeast USA.

What books have you written?

I have 53 books currently published and 6 scheduled for release through 2027, including both fiction and non-fiction. My main non-fiction focus includes Irish mythology and fairy belief. My fiction includes urban fantasy and high fantasy. I’m fortunate that my current circumstances allow me to focus on writing as a full-time job, which lets me write regularly and have time to research.

How would you describe your spiritual pathway?

I consider myself a witch and a pagan, with my witchcraft focusing on early modern practices and my paganism on Irish gods and good folk (fairies). I’ve tried a lot of things over the years, different approaches, but the Good Folk have been a steady throughline to it all.

What is something fun and quirky about yourself?

I have central heterochromia in my eyes, which means the main iris is one colour, but there’s a ring of a different colour around the pupil.

Where can people find you?

I’m pretty easy to find online, on Facebook, Twitter, Bluesky, Instagram, or TikTok, all under Morgan Daimler.

What tips do you have for folk beginning their spiritual journey?

Don’t be afraid to try things, to find out what works for you and what doesn’t, what sings to your soul and what doesn’t. Don’t rush, but see the journey as the point, because we all change over time, and so does our spirituality.

Which deity or deities would you love to have dinner with?

Manannán mac Lir or the Dagda, because I bet they tell excellent stories.

What magical items would you take with you if you had to live on an island for a year?

Salt and butter. I could probably make or find anything else I needed.
