Meet the author is a series of articles intended to introduce you to our wonderful authors. Learn about the books they’ve written, the spiritual pathways they’ve traversed and some fun little tidbits… introducing Erin Aurelia!

What books have you written?

The Torch of Brighid: Flametending for Transformation

Bone & Stars: A Constellation of Poems of Healing and Recovery from Narcissistic Abuse

How would you describe your spiritual pathway?

I am Celtic polytheist and especially devoted to Brighid as a longtime flametender for her.

What is something fun and quirky about yourself?

In addition to writing poetry, I also perform my poetry, and my favorite way to perform is accompanied by musicians, creating live collaborations together. It’s the best fun!

What tips do you have for folk beginning their spiritual journey?

Ask for guidance and be open to how it may appear, as it may not arrive as you expect it to. When you recognize it, act; take the step it offers you. As soon as you do, the next step will appear. Keep taking the steps as they appear and trust the journey to carry you where you need to go and teach you what you need to learn.

Which deity or deities would you love to have dinner with?

Brighid, of course! And Ériu, for whom I am named, having been named for Ireland, which is named for her. And Ogma; I would love to ask him questions about the ogham he is said to have created. A dinner date with Lugh might also be fun; he could play music for me while I read my poetry. I could collaborate with a god! I could do the same with an Daghda, as well as enjoy a meal from his cauldron.

What magical items would you take with you if you had to live on an island for a year?

My travel flametending kit, set of ogham cards, journal and pen, and a year’s worth of candles.
